The President of the Republic of Chad, Head of State, Mahamat Idriss Déby Itno, returned to N’Djamena this morning from Mecca, in Saudi Arabia, where he completed the Hajj, the fifth pillar of Islam.
Upon his arrival at Hassan Djamous International Airport, the Head of State was welcomed with full honors by Prime Minister Allah-Maye Halina, along with several senior civilian and military officials. Also present were the Chief of the General Staff of the Armed Forces, members of the government, the Minister of State and Secretary-General of the Presidency, the Director of the Civil Cabinet, the Chief of the President’s Military Staff, the Deputy Private Secretary, the National Security Adviser, and the Mayor of N’Djamena.
The Chadian President’s stay in Islam’s holy sites enabled him to fulfill one of the most important acts of the Muslim faith alongside millions of pilgrims from around the world. This spiritual journey holds special significance for Muslims and symbolizes the values of faith, peace, brotherhood, and solidarity.
The return of the Head of State also marks the resumption of his duties at the helm of the country following this major religious observance. The officials present at the airport welcomed his return and extended their best wishes following the completion of this pilgrimage.
Through this journey to Mecca, Marshal Mahamat Idriss Déby Itno reaffirms his commitment to the spiritual and religious values that hold an important place in the life of the Chadian nation.
