Libreville, Gabon – The President of the Republic of Equatorial Guinea, His Excellency Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo, accompanied by the First Lady, Her Excellency Constancia Mangue de Obiang, paid an official visit to the Gabonese Republic at the invitation of the President of Gabon, His Excellency Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema, and the First Lady, Mrs. Zita Oligui Nguema.
Upon their arrival on the evening of Friday, July 24, at Léon-Mba International Airport in Libreville, the Equatorial Guinean presidential couple was welcomed with full military and state honors during an official ceremony presided over by the highest Gabonese authorities. The warm reception highlighted the strong historical ties that unite the two neighboring Central African nations.
The visit was also marked by the enthusiastic presence of the Equatorial Guinean community living in Gabon. Gathered outside the airport, many compatriots offered a heartfelt welcome to the Head of State and the First Lady, waving national flags, singing patriotic songs, and expressing their unwavering support for their homeland.
During their stay in Libreville, President Teodoro Obiang Nguema Mbasogo and the First Lady are scheduled to take part in several official events and high-level meetings with Gabonese authorities. These discussions will focus on strengthening political, economic, and diplomatic cooperation between the two countries, while also addressing key regional issues and prospects for greater integration in Central Africa.
