Yaoundé, Cameroon – The written examinations for the special recruitment of 40 trainee auditors into the 9th intake of the Institute of Economics and Finance – Regional Training Center for Financial Administrations of Central Africa (IEF-PR) took place in a calm and well-organized atmosphere at the National School of Administration and Magistracy (ENAM), the sole examination center for the 2026 session. To ensure the smooth conduct of the examinations, the Minister of the Public Service and Administrative Reform, Joseph Lé, carried out an inspection visit to the examination venue.
Upon his arrival, the government official was welcomed by the Director General of IEF-PR, Jaquinot Voundi, alongside senior officials from the Ministry of the Public Service and Administrative Reform. The visit underscored the government’s commitment to transparency, fairness, and credibility in the recruitment process.
A Highly Competitive Examination
Established by Ministerial Order No. 000036/MINFOPRA of February 23, 2026, this special competitive examination aims to recruit 40 Cameroonian trainee auditors into one of the region’s most prestigious training institutions. The available positions are evenly distributed among four key disciplines: Economic and Financial Administration, Customs, Taxation, and Treasury.
The statistics highlight the level of competition. Out of 312 initially registered applicants, 300 candidates reported to the ENAM campus to sit for the examinations. With only 40 places available, the competition ratio stands at one place for every 7.5 candidates, making this recruitment exercise particularly selective and demanding.
A Truly Regional Examination
One of the distinctive features of this special examination is its sub-regional dimension. Candidates from Cameroon, Congo, and Equatorial Guinea are sitting the same examinations simultaneously, under identical conditions. This unified approach reflects the spirit of regional integration promoted by the leaders of the Central African Economic and Monetary Community (CEMAC).
Through common examination papers covering general knowledge, mathematics, economics, and law, IEF-PR seeks to ensure a harmonized standard of excellence among future financial administration professionals across the region.
Minister Joseph Lé Meets Candidates
During his tour of the examination halls, Minister Joseph Lé personally encouraged the candidates and emphasized the strategic importance of the competition for the future of public financial administration in Cameroon.
He urged participants to remain focused, disciplined, and confident throughout the examination process. Reaffirming the fundamental principle of equal opportunity, the Minister stressed that success would depend solely on merit, individual talent, and academic performance.
His message aimed to reassure candidates and ease concerns linked to the highly competitive nature of the examination.
A Symbolic Gesture of Proximity
One of the most memorable moments of the visit came when Minister Joseph Lé briefly sat on an examination bench among the candidates. The gesture, widely appreciated, reflected a leadership style rooted in accessibility and human connection.
By symbolically placing himself in the position of an examination candidate, the Minister conveyed a powerful message about a modern public administration that values intellectual effort, merit, and the aspirations of young professionals.
Smooth Organization and Positive Outlook
At the conclusion of the inspection, officials expressed satisfaction with the overall organization of the examination. The logistical, administrative, and security measures jointly implemented by IEF-PR and MINFOPRA ensured a smooth and orderly process.
The 2026 session is expected to produce a new generation of highly qualified financial administration professionals who will contribute to strengthening public institutions and supporting economic governance across Central Africa.
Through this rigorous selection process, IEF-PR continues to play a crucial role in training future leaders of the region’s financial administrations, in line with the modernization agenda of the Cameroonian public service and the broader objectives of regional integration.
