    Libreville, June 13, 2026 – The final of the President’s Inter-Forces Sports Challenge, held at the Friendship Stadium in Libreville, was marked by a memorable moment of camaraderie and national unity with a gala match featuring former members of the Committee for the Transition and Restoration of Institutions (CTRI) against Gabonese parliamentarians.

    Played on the sidelines of the grand final of this sporting competition bringing together the country’s various defense and security forces, the friendly encounter attracted great enthusiasm from the large crowd that attended the festivities.

    In a warm atmosphere characterized by fair play, both teams delivered an entertaining performance, demonstrating that sport remains a powerful tool for social cohesion and closer ties among the institutions of the Republic. After a balanced and emotionally charged match, neither side was able to secure victory during regular playing time.

    The outcome was ultimately decided in a penalty shootout, during which the former CTRI members proved more effective. They prevailed by 3 penalties to 2, securing victory in this symbolic contest against the parliamentarians.

    The match highlighted the values of solidarity, unity, and brotherhood promoted by the Gabonese authorities through the Inter-Forces Sports Challenge. Beyond the competitive aspect, the event helped strengthen bonds among the different components of the nation and celebrated the spirit of sportsmanship in a setting that brought people together.

    Held under the banner of friendship and togetherness, this sporting day will remain one of the defining moments of the 2026 President’s Inter-Forces Sports Challenge, an initiative that continues to promote national cohesion and peaceful coexistence in Gabon.
