Cameroonian petroleum group Tradex is continuing its expansion across Central Africa with the appointment of Georges Bassalang Bolemen as Managing Director of Tradex Democratic Republic of the Congo (DRC). The decision was approved during an extraordinary Board of Directors meeting held in Douala on June 11, 2026. He succeeds Philippe Attang Atomb Bekonj at the helm of this young subsidiary, which is expected to play a strategic role in the group’s development across Central Africa.
A Cameroonian national, Georges Bassalang Bolemen is widely regarded as one of the most experienced executives in the petroleum sector within the sub-region. A petroleum engineer and graduate of the National Higher School of Petroleum and Engines in France, he brings more than twenty years of experience acquired in both Europe and Africa. His professional career has taken him through major industrial companies such as Opel, Mercedes-Benz, Robert Bosch, General Electric, TotalEnergies, and Technip before joining Tradex in 2011.
However, it was in Equatorial Guinea that Georges Bassalang truly made a lasting impact. Appointed in 2019 as the first Managing Director of Tradex Equatorial Guinea, he led the establishment and development of the newly created subsidiary. Under his leadership, the company experienced remarkable growth and emerged as one of the country’s leading petroleum sector players, earning recognition as one of Equatorial Guinea’s benchmark companies.
