A man of integrity determined to pursue his commitment to justice

The Prosecutor of the International Criminal Court (ICC) is preparing to seek a new mandate, demonstrating his determination to continue his work in the fight against impunity and the defence of international law. This candidacy comes against a global backdrop marked by numerous armed conflicts, humanitarian crises and a growing demand for justice for the victims of the most serious crimes.

Recognised by many observers for his integrity and his attachment to the principles of the rule of law, the magistrate intends to pursue the reforms undertaken within the institution and to strengthen the effectiveness of the investigations conducted by the Office of the Prosecutor. His aim is also to consolidate the Court’s credibility by guaranteeing impartial, independent procedures that comply with international standards.

Throughout his mandate, the prosecutor has overseen several investigations into war crimes, crimes against humanity and alleged acts of genocide in various regions of the world. His action has helped place the fight against impunity at the heart of the international community’s concerns, despite the political and diplomatic challenges the Court regularly faces.

His willingness to seek a new mandate reflects his determination to continue this demanding mission. He believes that international justice remains an essential pillar for preventing atrocities, protecting civilian populations and strengthening lasting peace.

The appointment of the next prosecutor will be of particular importance for the future of the International Criminal Court. The States Parties to the Rome Statute will have to choose a figure capable of preserving the institution’s independence while meeting the growing expectations of victims and the international community regarding criminal justice.
