The President of the Gabonese Republic, His Excellency Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema, accompanied by the First Lady, Mrs. Zita Oligui Nguema, has arrived in France for a three-day state visit, marking a new chapter in the relationship between Libreville and Paris.

Upon their arrival on French soil, the presidential couple was welcomed by Mrs. Catherine Pégard, France’s Minister of Culture, in accordance with the protocol reserved for state visits. This visit comes at a time of renewed cooperation between Gabon and France, following the French President’s official visit to Gabon a few months ago.

President Oligui Nguema is accompanied by a high-level delegation made up of government officials, business leaders, political figures, and media professionals. The strong representation reflects Gabon’s determination to showcase the country’s economic potential and strengthen partnerships with France across several strategic sectors.

During the visit, a series of high-level meetings will be held between officials from both countries. Discussions are expected to focus on enhancing economic cooperation, attracting investment, promoting the ecological transition, strengthening security cooperation, advancing cultural and educational exchanges, and fostering closer ties between the French and Gabonese private sectors.

Beyond its diplomatic significance, this state visit symbolizes the shared commitment of Gabon and France to building a renewed partnership based on mutual respect, shared interests, and cooperation aimed at sustainable development and the prosperity of both nations.

For Gabon, the visit represents a major opportunity to reinforce its international standing, attract new investors, and highlight the reforms being implemented under the leadership of President Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema.
